Pauatahanui School

An inviting learning centre

A new learning centre was required to house a library and resource spaces such as meeting rooms and storage areas.

A review of the master planning for the existing school site revealed the issue of circulation, in particular the need to architecturally define clear, sheltered routes and improve traffic flow between existing and proposed structures.

The design created a main central circulation route running from the gate area along the front of the main building through a consolidated administration wing to the new library building. The new building uses design features to create a contemporary and inviting space that links to and sits harmoniously with the more established school buildings.
